Ux/Ui are words commonly used every time and most people do not know the difference between the two terms.

User experience (UX) is the interaction and experience users have with a company’s products and services. According to Don Norman who is known as the father of modern-day, he described UX as ”User experience’ encompasses all aspects of the end-users interaction with the company, its services, and its products.” UX evolved as a result of improvements to UI.

UX designers are primarily concerned with how the product feels. They are problems solvers, they explore different ways to solve a particular problem for the customer.

UX designers work in a company or workplace are the following: market research, interaction model, user task flow, UI specifications, execution and analysis, wireframing/prototyping, communication scenarios, end to end experience and interaction models.

They can also be responsible for A/B testing and interviewing the user.

The deliverable of a UX designer can be wireframe of screens, storyboard, sitemap etc.

Tools they work with are: photoshop, sketch, fireworks, envision etc

User Interface designs are usually interested in how the product looks and feel. A UI designer is usually concern with the aesthetics of the product. As my mentor put is Fatimah ”It is the interaction between the user and the product”.

Tools they work with: adobe XD, Figma etc

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UX AND UI?

According to Don norman ”It’s important to distinguish the total user experience from the user interface (UI), even though the UI is obviously an extremely important part of the design. As an example, consider a website with movie reviews. Even if the UI for finding a film is perfect, the UX will be poor for a user who wants information about a small independent release if the underlying database only contains movies from the major studios.”

In a nutshell UX design deal with the analytical part of design while UI deals with the aesthetic of product.
